Hallow the Space:

(Facing South): Hammer of Fire, hallow and hold this holy stead!
(Facing North): Hammer of Ice, hallow and hold this holy stead!
(Facing Center): Mjollnir, mighty weapon of Thor, protect and guard this holy stead!

Invocation:

Gods:

Hail to the mighty ones. Hail to our eldest kin. Hail the Aesir, and hail the Asyniur. We welcome you to this rite. We thank you for your wisdom and your protection. Hail the Aesir! Hail the Vanir! Hail the gods!

Wights:

Hail to the spirits of the land. Hail to the wights of this place. We stand among you, and we thank you for your blessings. Hail to those who walk or crawl, or swim or fly. Hail to those who go on their bellies. Hail to all those seen and unseen. Hail the landvaettir!

Ancestors:

Hail to all you who were once bone. Hail to those whose flesh is our flesh, and whose blood runs in our veins. Hail to those who once lived, and whose memory we keep in our hearts. Hail to the guardians of our luck, our might, and our megnin. We ask that you witness our rite this day, which we hold in your honor. Hail to those who came before us. Hail the alfar! Hail the disir! Hail the ancestors!

Blessings / Offering:

Pour mead into horn.

Bless the mead:

Hail the blood of Kvasir. Hail the drink of inspiration. Bless this mead, gift of the gods to men. Hail!

Pass horn to all attendees. Each is given a chance to speak of a specific ancestor, or general ancestors. When finished, a drink is taken and the horn is passed on. Keep mead in horn!

Offering:

Words have been spoken over the well, and our memories have brought our ancestors into our hearts and minds. We thank the ancestors for all they have done and continue to do for us, our kin, and our communities. This gift we offer in thanks to the alfar and the disir.

(briefly describe offering being given and its significance)

(offering is cast into the lake)

At this time, any others who wish to offer to the ancestors may do so.

(give opportunity for attendees to make physical offerings)

Closing:

Words have been spoken over the well, memories shared. We have offered thanks to our ancestors, and we cherish them in our hearts. Through us, they live on. Hail the ancestors!

Pour out mead while saying:

From the gods to the earth to us,
From us to the earth to the gods.
A gift for a gift.

Hail!
