1. How do you view our gods and goddesses?
My view of the gods and goddesses is simple: They are each individuals and should be given respect and honor as befits them. While I do not make daily devotionals they are a great source of strength and wisdom. Even if the conversations sometimes seem one-sided I know they are there.
2. Are you oathed to one or more specific deities? If so, how did that come about, and why that particular deity? If not, then why not?
No, I'm not oathed to any specific deity. I have no special reason as to why other than that I don't feel it is needed. I feel closer to certain ones, Odhinn, Freya and Thor, but that's like being closer to certain friends over others. I think it's only natural that way and oathing to me excludes the others.
3. Which gods and goddesses do you feel closest to / have a deeper connection with?
This was answered in the above although I will expand on why. Odhinn for His willingness to give of Himself for the betterment of the tribe/family. Freya for Her freedom of self. Thor because I always like the guy who looks out for those weaker than Himself.
4. What drew you to our pantheon?
In a strange way it wasn't so much the pantheon as it was the religion. I find that the beliefs in the ways we should live our lives and honor those that have gone before to best fit my way of thinking. The gods/-esses just happen to be the perfect fit as well. It was the study of runelore that first led me to the pantheon and then to heathenism. It was the study of heathenism that made me hear the "click" that makes it fit.
5. What is your favorite myth / story about a god or goddess? Briefly outline the myth.
My favorite myths revolve around Odhinn. Mainly the ones in which He is giving of Himself to gain or regain knowledge and wisdom. He sacrifices Himself for nine days and nights on Yggdrasil and gains knowledge of the runes. He gives up an eye just for a drink from Mimir's well of wisdom. He also gives of Himself to regain the mead of poetry. These are, to me, selfless acts so that He can better lead His family with a greater understanding of all that is around Him.
